Sunday Breakfast Casserole

You can add vegetables, onions or pretty much anything else you want. Or substitute ham it bacon for the sausage.

  • Ingredients:

  • 1 pound sausage, cooked, drained, and crumbled

  • 8 cups cubed day old bread (I used a french loaf)

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 10 eggs, slightly beaten

  • 4 cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon dry parsley

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • 1 teaspoon salt

pepper to taste

Instructions: Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.

Arrange bread cubes in the bottom of the casserole dish. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the bread cubes.

In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, and spices. Pour carefully over the bread and cheese mixture in the dish. Sprinkle sausage over the top.

Cover pan with foil and chill overnight. In the morning, preheat oven to 350. Bake uncovered for about 1 hour, or until eggs are set. Tent the pan with foil if the top browns too quickly.
