Homemade Jamaican Jerk Seasoning

I had a couple of messages asking about where to buy the jerk seasoning from that last chicken recipe. You can usually find a pre made one at the store but I prefer to make my own.

This is a spicy, sweet, tangy and hot seasoning for chicken, pork and grilled meat. It's truly amazing how many spice rubs and blends you can make with some basic spices.

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons onion powder

2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper

2 teaspoons dried thyme

1 tablespoon garlic powder

2 teaspoons dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon ground allspice

Instructions:

Mix all spices together and store in airtight container for 3-4 months.
