Spanish Sangria

There's nothing quite as refreshing as a pitcher of Spanish Sangria shared with friends on a hot summer day. Personally I enjoy pretty much any version of Sangria, but this one is exceptional. Do yourself a favour and use a decent wine that you'd enjoy on its own. I mean, why wreck such a delicious base by adding cheap wino wine?

INGREDIENTS:

1 orange, cut into small wedges

1 large pear, cut into small wedges

1 peach, cut into small pieces

1 lemon, cut into small wedges

2 oranges, for juicing

2 limes, for juicing

1/2 cup orange liquor

1/4 cup sugar, or to taste

red wine, 750ml bottle

club soda (or sparkling water)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Place fruit wedges in a large pitcher.

Squeeze juice from oranges and lines onto fruit.

Add orange liquor and sugar, stir to combine.

Let blend for 2-6 hours.

Add wine and club soda, mix well.

Serve over ice.
