Copycat Bisquick Buttermilk Biscuits

These copycat Bisquick buttermilk biscuits are to die for. So simple to make with just a few ingredients and from stove to stomach in under 30 minutes!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 cups Bisquick (I use this copycat recipe )

  • 1 Tbsp sugar

  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk

  • 1 Tbsp buttermilk, for brushing tops

  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted

  • Optional: You can add almost anything you'd like to these. I love grated smoked cheddar and smoked applewood spice mix with red pepper flakes.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven time 425 degrees F

  2. Whisk together Bisquick and sugar to combine. Make a well in the centre and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until it forms a rough dough.

  3. Turn the dough onto a well- floured surface. Sprinkle the top lightly with flour. Gently pat into a rectangle about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Fold over onto itself in thirds. Turn the dough over and gently pat into a rectangle again.

  4. Cut dough into 12 even squares. Place biscuits onto parchment covered baking sheet and brush tops with buttermilk.

  5. Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes until golden.

  6. Brush with melted butter.

  7. Wrap leftover tightly in plastic wrap at room temp for 3-4 days or freeze.

NOTE: You can also freeze the raw biscuits. Simply bake according to this recipe and add a few minutes onto the baking time.
